Empire: Four Kingdoms – Where to Keep Soldiers

Where should I keep my soldiers?

I’ve already discussed the issues with food production.  Next up, is where to keep your soldiers.  Remember, there are two types of soldiers: defensive soldiers (greens) and attacking soldiers (blues).  And you generally want to follow the 80/20 rule.

Keep only green defensive troops in your main castle.  Let me repeat that.  Keep only defense troops in your main castle.

The general unwritten rule in Empire: Four Kingdoms, is that you only attack castles (unless you are starting a war, or actively in a war).  This means that attackers will leave your outposts (ops) alone.  This makes them a great place to hide your attacking troops.

If you have more than one outpost, you have some choices.  I tend to keep one outpost full of just attacking troops.  Use these troops to raid RBCs (robber baron castles), inactive and active players.  I fill all the rest of my ops with defensive troops.  I can then use these to support my alliance members, or support myself.

  1. I like the idea of keeping my attacking soldiers in my Outpost, but I cannot figure out how to get a commander to the Outpost and launch an army from there. Please help. Thanks!

    • U dont need to move ur commander to the outpost once u select ur target before launch attack give u option from where u would like to attack, just select outpost u desire and whoop u ready to go,make sure u station engouh troops and tools before doing it ,normally I will attack nomads and samurai from outpost best way to supply and easy upgrade .
